Lamplighters’ re-imagined version of Gilbert and Sullivan’s THE MIKADO, the most internationally popular of all of the canon. Our production contains all their famous dialog and music (“I’ve Got a Little List”, “Three Little Maids”, “A More Humane Mikado”), re-set in sumptuous Renaissance Italy! No matter where this show is set, it deftly skewers rank, power, hypocrisy, and the law while ensuring that love triumphs.

The Murgatroyds are a Cornish family that moved to Hidalgo for the mining business in the 1800’s. They had hoped to escape the infamous family curse of committing one crime a day or dying a terrible death, but they brought it with them! Combining all the familiar characters and music with folklórico dancing and Day-of-the-Dead style ghostly ancestors, Lamplighters’ new production of RUDDYGORE will spook and delight old and new audiences alike!

Based on Charles Dickens’ final unfinished novel, this hilarious whodunit invites the audience to solve its mystery by choosing the identity of the murderer. The tale is presented as a show-within-a-show, as the Music Hall Royale – a delightfully loony Victorian theatre company – presents Dickens’ brooding mystery. Musical numbers include “Perfect Strangers,” “Don’t Quit While You’re Ahead,” “Off to The Races” and “Moonfall.” Simulcast on May 19th
