Instructions & Rules

Lamplighters Student Night at the Opera for The Mystery of Edwin Drood!

If you are assigned tickets through our request form please (1) plan to arrive and be parked at the Douglas Morrison Theatre, 22311 N. Third Street in Hayward, by 10:30am and (2) immediately send one representative into the lobby to pick up your tickets, (3) distribute the tickets to your students and chaperones outside, and (4) ensure that all students and chaperones enter the theater with their ticket.

For your convenience, Lamplighters volunteers and ushers will help you find your group’s section. Each member of your group must have a ticket and know the group name under which your tickets were ordered so that ushers can assist them in case you are separated. Should you need to leave tickets for others in your party, please return those tickets to the ticket table in the lobby.

As a reminder, this is a dress rehearsal that will start promptly at 11 a.m. The doors will open at approximately 10:30 a.m. so we can get everyone into the theater and to their assigned seats comfortably. There will be NO LATE SEATING, so please do your best to arrive on time. Please make sure every person has a ticket in hand when entering the theater lobby.

While the intention of the final Dress Rehearsal is to perform the Opera as if it were a regular performance, occasionally the conductor or director may need to stop the rehearsal in order to fix a technical problem. If this occurs, please remain in your seat and observe in silence so that their work can continue uninterrupted.

Please do not bring food or drinks other than bottled water in the theater (including the lobbies).

Students who need to leave the auditorium during the rehearsal MUST be accompanied by a Chaperone to ensure their safety.

Please do not bring cameras as photography is not allowed anywhere in the theater. Please refrain from using cell phones (for ANY purpose, including voice, texting, video, and photos) inside the seating area of the theater. Since this is a rehearsal and not a regular performance, there will be NO concessions for sale and no printed program available for you.

Please be sure that everyone has a ticket, as no one will be allowed into the theater without a ticket. Tickets are not sold at the door and there will be no exchanging of tickets.

COVID POLICY: Masks are recommended, but not required.

Thank you for supporting Lamplighters Music Theatre!
