Instructions & Rules

Lamplighters Student Night at the Opera for IL DUCATO, The New Mikado!

If you are assigned tickets through our request form please (1) plan to arrive and be parked at the Hoffmann Theatre at Lesher Center for the Arts, 1601 Civic Center Drive, Walnut Creek, CA. 94956 by 7:00 p.m. and (2) immediately send one representative into the lobby to pick up your wristband tickets, (3) distribute the wristband tickets to your students and chaperones outside in the parking lot, and (4) ensure that all students and chaperones enter the theater wearing a wristband ticket.

For your convenience, Lamplighters volunteers and ushers will help you find your group’s section. Each member of your group must have a ticket and know the group name under which your tickets were ordered so that ushers can assist them in case you are separated. Should you need to leave wristband tickets for others in your party, please return those wristband tickets to the ticket table in the lobby.

As a reminder, this is a dress rehearsal that will start promptly at 7:30 p.m., with opening remarks at 7:20. The doors will open at approximately 6:30 p.m. so we can get everyone into the theater and to their assigned seats comfortably. There will be NO LATE SEATING, so please do your best to arrive on time. Please make sure every person is wearing a wristband ticket when entering the theater lobby.

While the intention of the final Dress Rehearsal is to perform the Opera as if it were a regular performance, occasionally the conductor or director may need to stop the rehearsal in order to fix a technical problem. If this occurs, please remain in your seat and observe in silence so that their work can continue uninterrupted.

Please do not bring food or drinks other than bottled water in the theater (including the lobbies).

Students who need to leave the auditorium during the rehearsal MUST be accompanied by a Chaperone to ensure their safety.

Please do not bring cameras as photography is not allowed anywhere in the theater. Please refrain from using cell phones (for ANY purpose, including voice, texting, video, and photos) inside the seating area of the theater. Since this is a rehearsal and not a regular performance, there will be NO concessions for sale and no printed program available for you.

Student wristband tickets may NOT be “upgraded” to Adult tickets. You may notice that there are empty seats in certain sections of the theater. This is done for production purposes and we ask that you sit only in the seat for which you have been ticketed.

Please be sure that everyone is wearing a wristband ticket, as no one will be allowed into the theater without a wearing a wristband ticket. Wristband Tickets are not sold at the door and there will be no exchanging of tickets. You MUST sit in your assigned seats. Adult chaperones are not allowed to sit together. Ushers will ask chaperones to move if they are sitting with another chaperone or in the wrong seat.

Lamplighters Music Theatre Covid Policy: Masks are optional for all attendees of the performance.
