Lamplighters Education Programs


The experience of live musical performance expands students’ comprehension skills, and draws them into a rich, structured conversation about the world of the play. Learning and
performing alongside professional singers, your students will…

    All of our programs align with the State of California’s Visual & Performing Arts Framework and Common Core Standards. Our programs incorporate preparatory and in-class materials, including topics for discussion, historical & cultural information on Gilbert & Sullivan, and an activity section.


    Interactive Assembly Program

    H.M.S. Pinafore: Get on Board with Gilbert & Sullivan

    A specially designed assembly for students of all ages, elementary through high school. The experience of live musical performance will expand your students’ comprehension skills, and draw them into a rich, structured conversation about the role that speaking and listening play in acquiring and sharing knowledge.     Onstage with the Lamplighters

    Students will learn how a musical is put together from auditions and rehearsals to costumes and performances. More information


    Gilbert & Sullivan Scenes

    The perfect training program for the young stage performer

    Explore the “Topsy-Turvy” world of rollicking pirates, damsels in distress, and modern major generals! Daily classes and rehearsals will emphasize singing, acting, and stage movement. The program culminates in a fully staged and costumed performance of scenes from the Gilbert & Sullivan repertoire. More information


    Community Chorus

    A community choir led by the Lamplighters that focuses on Gilbert & Sullian classics and lesser-known works. More information
