Princess Ida CD now available for Pre-purchaseOur Princess Ida CD is now available for advance purchase from our online store. We expect to have them available for purchase at our performances starting with Iolanthe this summer. This double CD features the full performance, including dialog and an extension to the overture written by our Resident Music Director, Baker Peeples, and was recorded on February 2, 2013 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. We have launched a company member campaign in honor of Lamplighters 60th Anniversary. We’re calling it “Light the Lamp”. Once we’ve reached our goal, the Lamp will be Lit! As we all know, many arts organizations are struggling, and even failing completely in this economy. But the Lamplighters keep sharing the joy and brilliance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s music with audiences throughout the Bay Area and beyond. We realize that everyone who is a Lamplighter Company Member already spends lots of time, effort, and skill to bring our productions to audiences. Believe me, I don’t think there’s a single member who isn’t grateful for the efforts of everyone else. We’re asking for just a bit more from you, to allow us to continue to do what we all love. We are asking every single Company Member to pledge a donation to the Lamplighters between now and October 21 (the date of the 60th Anniversary Gala). Our goal is to raise $30,000, and just as importantly, to gain 100% participation from the Members. That’s just $60.00 per person, if 500 Company Members participate. That participation is a key for major donors looking to give to an arts organization. It shows how much we believe in what we’re doing and how our community benefits from our work and talent. Once we’ve achieved our goal of $30,000 and 100% participation, we will ask major donors to match that $30,000, which will make a goal of $60,000 – just in time for the 60th Anniversary celebration in October. At last night’s meeting all of the 51 company members present pledged to the campaign! One company member even pledged to match all donations made by the recent Mikado cast and orchestra! You have many options for pledging funds: you can make a one-time payment, via cash, check, credit or debit card, Paypal, money order, cashier’s check, you name it. You may also pledge to donate incrementally: monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, annually. There is also a “donate” button on our Facebook page. Anything and everything you donate will be a huge help, never think a donation is too small (or too large!). And, know – you are appreciated by everyone in the organization.
